Dizzee Rascal – Electric Proms 09: The Build Up
Greetings from The Roundhouse in Camden, North London where sounds are being checked, merchandise is being set out, cables are being plugged in and people are being briefed in anticipation of tonight's 1Xtra Electric Proms gig with Dizzee Rascal headlining. I've already checked out the soundcheck and we're in for a real treat. Dizzee, a string orchestra, horn section, backing singers and a full live band:
I'm going to be 100% live from the venue alongside my girl Max bringing you the build up and anticipation for the show then (here's the best bit) we'll be bringing you the show LIVE as it happens direct to your speakers!
I also get the honour of DJ'ing the warm up for the half an hour before Dizzee comes on stage. Check my view of the empty auditorium:
You can interact with us tonight with our chat widget via the Electric Proms minisite here and make sure you're locked in tonight from 7pm!
KANO – ROCK N ROLLER OFFICIAL VIDEO
Kano rolls back into the spotlight in style rocking a fresh single, video, string of live dates, and with a new album on the horizon for 2010
Kanos new single Rock N Roller (out 26th Oct) is a soaring slice of heavyweight urban electro-pop with …rousing tweaked-out vocals and a disconcertingly catchy chorus.
The video is directed by Christian Holm-Glad whose previous credits include Calvin Harris Im Not Alone and Madcons Beggin.
Troublemakers actin up
To celebrate black history month the troublemakers were asked to attend a school in London to take part in a Question an Answer session. Probably not the best idea to have the troublemakers of radio influence your kids but the session did raise loads of interesting debate and discussion. Topics included the music industry, college & University, UK Radio, irritating DJ's, annoying celebraties and the hottest CD's out right now. We even got some bars from some up & coming MC's. Great Day. Shout out to all the pupils and staff!
